What makes a continent? How do you define geographicaly a continent?

木曜日, 7月 31st, 2008

A continent is defined as a large unbroken land mass completely surrounded by water, although in some cases continents are (or were in part) connected by land bridges. The seven continents are North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and Antarctica. The island groups in the Pacific are often called Oceania but this name does not imply that scientists consider them the remains of a continent.

Political considerations have often overridden geographical facts when it came to naming continents. Geographically, Europe, including the British Isles, is a large western peninsula of the continent of Asia; and many geographers, when referring to Europe and Asia, speak of the Eurasian continent. But traditionally, Europe is counted as a separate continent, with the Ural and the Caucasus mountains forming the line of demarcation between Europe and Asia.

What should I bring in my carry-on luggage bag?

水曜日, 7月 30th, 2008

In case your luggage doesn’t arrive with you, I suggest you pack a change of clothes, travel size toothpaste, deodorant and toothbrush, medication if needed, 3oz bottle of contact solution (if you wear them), and anything else you may need for the next day.
If you are heading for a beach vacation, a bathing suit, or if it’s a business meeting, things you will need the next day.

Along with these.. the usual, Ipod, book, magazine, snacks (no liguids) travel documents and all the hotel information that you will need for your arrival.

Travel Pillows are a blessing on a long flight, and you might consider a sweater - most planes are heavily air conditioned.

Don’t forget the liguid rule. ALL liguids or gels need to be under 3oz. each, and backed in 1 quart size clear plasitc bag.
This includes toothpaste, most deodorants, contact solutions, hair shampoos and gels, sunscreen etc.

I want to make paintball my new hobby, how should i start off?? Any specific items or guns i should buy?

火曜日, 7月 29th, 2008

if your looking to play speed ball (paintball in an open field with bunkers and stuff) your gunna want a shorter gun you can maneuver quickly and fire quickly, such and a spyder or anything like that, if your going to play woods ball (paintball in the woods) u need a gun that’s a little more accurate, id suggest a tippman 98 custom, its a very affordable gun and its nice and rugged (between $120 and $160) and you can add on a bunch of items like sights, stocks, anything like that. now what you need is a paintball gun (also known as a marker) CO2 or compressed air to hook to the gun, a hopper to hold your paint, paint of course, and a protective mask (i suggest anti fog, because without it it can get bad, fast.) you can buy packages suck as a marker and CO2 tank a mask and a hopper for around $200. a 1000 paint balls go anywhere from $15 to $25, depending on the brand. CO2 is about $5 bucks to fill a 20 ounce which is the size tank i would suggest but you can also purchase 9 or 12 ounce tanks. the thing i suggest most is DO NOT i repeat DO NOTTTTTT buy ANYTHING brass eagle, it is without a doubt the worst gear Ive ever ever used in my life. good luck with the paintball.

Okay, let’s say the Patriots end up winning the Superbowl this seasn…?

月曜日, 7月 28th, 2008

Now, don’t get me wrong: New England probably did deserve to be punished by the commissioner for getting caught videotaping New York’s defensive staff as it signaled plays in to its players. But a first-round draft pick? Methinks the punishment doesn’t fit the crime.

Is this really worse, for instance, than Mike Tice scalping Super Bowl tickets? Or a Detroit assistant coach getting caught naked at a drive-in? It’s common knowledge (trust me) that teams look at defensive signals through binoculars, and have been doing so for years. That the Pats took another step, and started taping them, is a clear violation of an NFL edict. But make no mistake: they’re not the only people trying to learn their opponents’ signals. That’s a practice as tried and true as eye black.

So is the fact that they used videotape so heinous that we should have 31 first-round draft picks in the ‘08 draft, instead of 32? Let me put it this way: There’s no way on Earth the commissioner takes away the Patriots’ first-rounder if they hadn’t had two (one from San Francisco, and their own). But because the Pats did have two, Roger Goodell could “make an example” of them, and show his critics that he’s not the butt-boy of Bob Kraft, one of Goodell’s biggest supporters on his way to winning the commissioner’s job. The world will keep spinning on its axis, but this heavy-handed punishment does not fit the crime.

Pantasonic Camcorder HDC-DX1 work on Macs?

日曜日, 7月 27th, 2008

I am also looking into getting a HD camcorder to use in conjunction with my MacBook Pro. I’m looking at the Canon HV20 or HV30.

If you have iMovie 08 or Final Cut Pro (Both video editing software. The iMovie 08 is free with new macs) you will not run into too many issues with this camera. If you dont, I would suggest getting a HD camcorder that uses miniDV tape cassettes. This format will work with iMovie HD with no problems. You will run into similar problems with the HDD (Hard Disc Drive) camcorders as well.
Mac has a list on their support page of specific camcorders that they have tested and work with the iMovie software. That Panasonic is on the list with the computer and software requirements listed next to it.

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1014#2

There is also a lot of other VERY useful information on HD camcorder to Mac compatibility on that page. So make sure you read through it all! :)
Hope this helps!

Tips about this deck-
Seeing how all monsters in this deck are effect monsters than Ceasefire is the best choice to do some more damage … the idea is to stall and stop your opponent from attacking and controlling monsters … it is a slow kill kinda deck and will be a bit hard to use at the beginning but you’d get the hang of it … the idea is to wait near the end to summon Megarock and have his attack at a crazy level …enjoy dude!!!

Moving to St. Louis?

金曜日, 7月 25th, 2008

Economy pretty decent I travel alot and have seen gas prices at 3.60-4.50 per gallon here in the STL gas is at 2.79 per gallon pretty decent.

What to do. We have several attractions:

Arch Downtown STL
Forest Park
ST. Louis Zoo
We have several casinos
Six Flags
Home of Anhueser Busch and the Clydedales

It all really depends on what type of scene you are looking for.

Best Communities depends on where the job is located. In St. Louis City the more high profile living areas are the…

Central West End CWE for short offers a variety of nighlife entertainment and social events. Cost of living as far as apartments and condo’s are some of the priciest in the area.
Just don’t go to far north you’ll end up on the cities north and west sides. No need to give mant details Trust me you’ll know when you’ve traveled past your comfort zone.

Soulard….. Two words Mardi Gras!! Nice homes Bars on just about every corner Soulard Market walking distance. great neighborhood I was born and raised there.

Tower Grove…. Walking distance from Tower Grove Park and Grand SoHO district great corner coffee shops, shopping and fun.

Lafayette Square… Beautiful Victorian style homes nice quiet area but minutes away from a local housing project. Never heard anything bad about too much crime coming from that area to the Lafayette Square area. Overall wonderful neighborhood minutes away from Lafayette Park also close to Downtown Stadium and Union Station.

Good Luck and welcome if you end up here.

Overall wonderful place to live
